A SCHOOLBOY from Kidderminster grew his hair for two years to be made into a wig for a child with cancer.
Liam Griffiths, aged 11, decided to grow his hair out in 2017 after watching a documentary on television about children with cancer.
Proud dad Anthony told The Shuttle: "We were sat watching a TV programme - it was one of those filming in Birmingham Children's Hospital - and a little girl came on and Liam got quite upset.
"Her family was saying how the hardest part for her had been losing her hair.
"Liam came to me and said I want to grow my hair to help someone like her.
"I said if that's what you want to do, I'm not going to stand in your way. I was so proud.
"His teachers at Franche Primary have been really supportive. They sat down with the children and said this is what he's doing and we all need to support him.
"There have been a few children who have called him a girl or made silly comments but it hasn't put him off.
"When you have children, you just hope they grow up to be kind and Liam is the kindest little boy. He really cares about others."
Liam braved the shave at Saint or Sinner in Comberton Hill on Friday (July 12) and donated an impressive 12 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust.
