WYRE Forest school children sang their hearts out at a charity competition in aid of two noble causes.
Five schools took part in the Wyre Forest Primary School Choir Competition at Kidderminster Town Hall on Friday, July 5.
The sell-out charity event raised a total of £1,013 for Diabetes UK and Dementia UK.
The choir competition was held in memory of Shirley Holland, the late wife of local fundraiser Fred Holland.
St Oswald’s CE Primary School came first in the competition, taking home the Shirley Holland memorial shield after performing The School Song from Matilda and I Am Still Your Dreamer.
The choir sang The School Song acapella due to a technical issue, and special praise was given to their teacher Shula Barnes-Smith.
Birchen Coppice Primary, St Johns CE Primary, The Sutton Park Primary, Holy Trinity Primary all took part in the fundraiser.
The event was compered by BCA winner Rose Hutton of M.G Promotions, who said that the "standard of the choir performances was excellent" and that the schools "raise the bar each year."
