ROBOTIC cats will be showcased at an open day at a Halesowen care home this weekend.
The state-of-the art moggies will be one of the attractions at the Allenbrook Nursing Home this Saturday, August 10.
The home, on Spies Lane, is the only care provider in England to use the US-made electronic cats as a source of comfort and fun for residents.
Elaine Welch, who runs activities at the centre, explained: "They look and act like real cats and help people to relax. They help people with dementia, people who have maybe had a cat or dog in the past so it helps them feel at home."
Visitors will also be able to experience the home's cutting edge 'magical tables' that project games onto the ceiling for residents to enjoy an immersive experience.
The 1940s themed open day also includes a birds of prey exhibition, games, stall, hair brading, a nail bar and a barbecue.
The fun takes place from 2pm to 4pm and is open to all.
