A PUBLIC reception will be held at Kidderminster Town Hall following the funeral of well-known solicitor and youth trust founder Charles Talbot, who died this month.

Mr Talbot, who passed away on Saturday, October 19, founded Kidderminster District Youth Trust in 1966, served as a borough councillor for 15 years and became the town’s youngest mayor, aged 33.

He worked at the family solicitors firm, Talbot and Talbot, in Church Street, and was awarded an MBE in 2017 for services to the community.

A funeral service will be held at the Parish Church of St Mary and All Saint's in Kidderminster on Friday, November 22 at 12pm and members of the public are welcome to attend.

A private committal will also be held, with invitations arranged by the family.

The Mayor of Kidderminster, town councillors and officers of the town have been invited to a civic funeral service, starting in the church vestry at 11.30am.

Anyone else attending the funeral service is asked to proceed straight into the church upon arrival.

Following the service, there will be a reception at Kidderminster Town Hall, which all that are present are invited to attend.
