A TEENAGER was knocked off his bike in a hit-and-run as he cycled to school.

The 15-year-old was hit by a blue Volkswagen, which failed to stop, on Upper Ettingshall Road in the Hurst Hill area at around 9.15am this morning (Monday, November 11).

The teen then made his way to school but was taken to hospital by a teacher to be checked over.

He suffered injuries not believed to be serious, police said.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "Police are investigating a hit-and-run on Upper Ettingshall Road, Hurst Hill, Dudley earlier this morning. Officers were called at 9:15am to reports that a boy was knocked off his bike by a blue Volkswagen car, which failed to stop.

"The 15-year-old boy carried onto school but was taken to hospital by a teacher for injuries which are not thought to be serious to be checked over."

West Midlands Police are now investigating the hit-and-run and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch, quoting log number 576 of November 11.
