THE family of a Halesowen mum with terminal cancer have been "overwhelmed" by the response from kind-hearted well-wishers to a bid to help her complete her bucket list.

The were especially moved when a stranger knocked on the family's door in Olive Lane on Friday (November 15) at around 3.15pm after seeing Lesley Partridge's (nee Hall) story - to donate to the appeal.

They would like the mystery man to get in touch so they can say thank you.

Lesley's daughter Georgina said: "We don't know the man's name who came to our door, but we would like to thank him if he would get in touch.

"It was amazing - he knocked our door after asking around to see where Mrs Partridge lives, all to say he was touched by my mum's story and to give her some money to help with her trips she has planned.

"We are all so overwhelmed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of friends, family and people we don’t know - thank you would never ever begin to express how much we all truly appreciate everyone.

"Mum just keeps crying - when the man came round she just cried - she was really touched by it."

Lesley's heartbroken family are fundraising in a bid to help the 43-year-old tick off every item on her bucket list - with her first wish to spend a day at the SnowDome in Tamworth and another to go jet skiing - and to make this Christmas extra special after she was given the devastating news she has incurable pancreatic cancer.

An appeal at www.gofundme.com/f/lesley-partridge-making-memories has now raised £2,838.

The family, including Lesley's four children Georgina Mole, aged 23, Caylea Mole, aged 22, Brandon Partridge, 13 and Brianna Partridge, 11, have also been contacted by the SnowDome in Tamworth with the attraction offering them a day there free of charge after staff saw Lesley's story and were "deeply moved."

Georgina said a group of kind-hearted men has offered to put up Christmas decorations on the front of the house, which might happen this weekend.

Netherton hardware shop Allan's has donated money towards Christmas lights, a lady has got in touch and is providing a Christmas bow for the front door, one man has offered to take Lesley on a jet ski when the weather improves and a host of well-wishers have boosted the fundraising appeal.

Single mum Lesley found out she had cancer on November 6.

She had been suffering from stomach pains for a few weeks and was sent to Russells Hall Hospital where doctors discovered a tumour on her liver.

Lesley, who Georgina said has worked all her life, had recently started a new job as a community carer at Diamond Care in Netherton.

She is being helped by Macmillan nurses and is on morphine to ease her pain.

She is due to start chemotherapy at Russells Hall Hospital in a bid to prolong the time she has left.

Family and friends will take part in a fundraising trek to Scafell Pike on November 30.
