A WOMAN from Kidderminster stole champagne worth £224 from Sainsbury's.

Stacey Stoten, of Coventry Street, pleaded guilty to six counts of theft when she appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court last Monday (November 25).

The 35-year-old stole two bottles of Moet champagne and two bottles of Perrier champagne to the value of £224 from Sainsbury's in Kidderminster on September 7.

She also stole games and toys worth £58.96 from The Range in Kidderminster on October 24.

Working alongside Clare Potter, Stoten made off with children's toys worth £193 from Sainsbury's on November 6, and stole toys to the value of £76 from Tesco in Kidderminster on October 31.

She admitted taking Yankee candles and a TV, totalling £209, from Tesco on October 16.

Working with David Ashbury, Stoten also stole toys worth £65 from Tesco on September 7.

Magistrates said the offences were made more serious by Stoten's "persistent thefts" and failure to co-operate with court services.

She was jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay £446.50 in compensation.
