HUNDREDS of presents have been dished out to needy children across the borough as part of this year's Operation Santa appeal.

The appeal, co-ordinated by Dudley Council for Voluntary Service (DVCS) in conjunction with Black Country Radio this year, has been running for more than 40 years to help ensure underprivileged youngsters across Dudley receive a gift to unwrap at Christmastime.

Volunteers were busy up until the last minute collecting, sorting and wrapping gifts - ranging from books and toys to games, colouring books, sweet treats and clothing - which were distributed to families in need across the borough in time for Christmas.
