A MAN has been charged with murdering his mother and step-father at their home in Oldbury.

Anmol Chana, 25, is accused of killing Jasbir Kaur, aged 52, and her husband Rupinder Singh Bassan, aged 51.

The couple were found dead at their home in Moat Road, Oldbury, (pictured below) at around 4am on Tuesday (February 25).

Halesowen News:

Police had forced their way into their home after concerns were raised for their welfare.

The couple were pronounced dead at the scene and had suffered serious injuries. The post-mortems will be held on Thursday to establish the precise cause of death.

Chana was arrested a short time after the discovery, at his home in Hamilton Road in Smethwick.

He will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police have also confirmed the couple’s Toyota Aygo, (pictured on the drive of the property below) which had disappeared from their home, was found this morning in Smethwick after a member of the public spotted the appeal to track down the car.

It will now be examined by forensic experts, police said.

Halesowen News:

Det Insp Hannah Whitehouse, leading the investigation, said: “I’d like to thank people for the response to our appeal which has directly led us to recovering the car.

“We’re continuing to support the family of Jasbir and Rupinder at this awful time."
