RESIDENTS across Redditch applauded for the NHS and key workers last night to show their appreciation for those working to keep the country safe during the coronavirus crisis.
The event, called Clap For Our Carers, returned for a second week running and saw people across the country take time at 8pm to stand on their doorsteps, streets and balconies to show their gratitude with applause.
The event recognises everyone who is working to keep the keep the country running, such as care workers, supermarket staff and bin workers.
Redditch residents have shared their appreciation on social media as the community came together during this difficult time.
Jackie Nicholls said: "Brilliant turnout in Redstone Close Church Hill. Car horns, cheering, whistling everyone waving at each other. Lovely. So proud and grateful to our NHS people, carers and all our other front line support people."
Megan Thompson added: "Oakenshaw, Paddock Lane.. Amazing again! We even had fireworks. Thank you NHS and key workers."
