THREE schools in Kidderminstser and Stourport have donated goggles and gloves to a care company after its supplier ran out of stock.

Care provider Agincare reached out to schools in the area after its usual PPE supplier ran out of protective gear - with no indication of when stock would be replenished.

Stourport High School, King Charles I School and Comberton Primary School were among those to answer the appeal, donating 170 pairs of goggles and boxes of gloves between them to the office in Worcester Road.

Agincare registered manager Michelle Williams said: "We’re determined to continue to deliver essential services to people relying on us during the coronavirus outbreak.

"We’re making sure our teams are following the Government guidance on wearing PPE.

"The Department of Health and Social Care is attempting to distribute supplies of face masks and other essential protective equipment to all care providers, but we wanted to be proactive and get on and try to find local solutions to boost our stock.

"Everyone at Agincare, including our clients, are incredibly grateful that the schools have risen to the challenge of helping us at this difficult time - we would like to say a big thank you.

“We would still love to hear from other local businesses - such as beauty therapists, nail technicians and tattoo parlours, as well as other schools and colleges - which may have a stock of gloves or face masks they would be willing to donate to frontline social care workers.

"Their donations really will help save lives."
