McDONALD'S in Halesowen has reopened for drive-thru customers, as more branches open up across the Black Country.

The branch on Bromsgrove Road opened for drive-thru customers at 11am today (June 4), while nearby branches on Park Road and at Birchley Island in Oldbury have also reopened for the first time since March.

Police in Halesowen have urged visitors to be "sensible" when visiting the Bromsgrove Road restaurant, as roads surrounding branches have been gridlocked around the country as drive-thru's have gradually reopened this week.

Aneal Butt, PCSO for Halesowen, said in a community alert: "Can we all be sensible when visiting restaurants that will be opening again, over the next few weeks. McDonald's Halesowen Bromsgrove Road is opening some time today.

"As it is off various other roads that are busy, please do not queue, if this causes a road management issue, that could potentially cause an accident. Stay safe and come back at a more convenient time."

Visitors can expect reduced opening times and limited menus, including no breakfasts, to keep staff safe.

A McDonald's spokesman said: "We are glad to be back but it will look a little different and may take a little longer, so please bear with us.

"We have fewer employees in our kitchens to enable our teams to social distance and work safely.

"We will have a limited menu (no breakfast or Shakes for now) and will open for reduced hours (11am-10pm).

"We encourage you to use contactless payment methods and cap your spend at £25.

"For those visiting our Drive Thrus, you can browse the menu, order and pay ahead using the My McDonald’s App - we’ll start preparing your order when you’re near the restaurant.

"We’re delighted to be returning to communities across the UK and Ireland, thank you for your continued support and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon."
