OWNERS at a Stourport garden centre have thanked people for their concern after a fire at one of its buildings.
Clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing from the area of Cook's Garden Centre nursery in Bewdley Road North on Friday afternoon (June 5).
Fire crews from the Wyre Forest Hub, Droitwich and Stourbridge, plus a water carrier from Leominster, rushed to the scene at 3.30pm.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said a market gardening building was on fire.
Neighbours took to social media to share their concern after thick clouds of black smoke were seen billowing from the site.
Four fire engines, three police cars and an ambulance were seen heading towards the scene shortly afterwards.
Cook's has since posted on social media to thank people for their concern, and confirmed its main site in Worcester Road is "open as normal".
The garden centre reported there were thankfully no injuries as a result of the fire.
A Facebook post said: "As you may be aware there has been a fire at the Bewdley Road nursery today.
"We would like to personally thank the fire service for their super quick response which kept damage and stock loss very minimal.
"More importantly nobody got hurt! Thank you for everyone’s concern and messages but we’re all okay."
