A 31-YEAR-old man was jailed for 18 weeks for stealing a motorcycle worth £2,000 in Stourbridge.

William Gamble admitted stealing the bike and a string of damage offences when he appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on June 12.

He also admitted causing £50 of unlawful damage to a bike and £400 worth of damage combined to a shed and side fence during the theft, which took place on April 23.

He was jailed due to disregarding court orders and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation and a £128 surcharge.

In the same incident, a Brierley Hill man was hit with a community order and curfew after admitting stealing a motorbike and causing unlawful damage to the fence and motorcycle, to the total of £400.

John Southall, aged 25-years-old of Addison Road, was ordered to follow a curfew for two months and pay £395 in compensation, a surcharge and costs.

Also before magistrates, a Dudley man was disqualified from getting behind the wheel for 12 months after admitting drink driving in Sedgley.

Thomas Everill, of Cowley Drive, pleaded guilty to driving a Seat Leon with 56 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when stopped on Queen Street on March 5.

The 25-year-old was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months and was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £32 surcharge and £135 costs when he appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on June 18.

Meanwhile, a Halesowen man was ordered to pay compensation after stealing three bottles of pink gin from Tesco Extra in Stourbridge.

Neil Totney, of Nimmings Road, admitted stealing the drink and possessing cannabis when he appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on June 12.

The 29-year-old received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay compensation and costs totalling £255.
