TWENTY firefighters were called out to tackle a fire in the roof of a motor workshop in Brierley Hill.

The incident in Station Drive was reported at around 4.30pm today (Monday).

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said firefighters arrived at the scene in just three minutes to tackle "a fire that's broken through the roof of a motor workshop".

Crews from Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Haden Cross and Oldbury were drafted in to fight the fire which is believed to have started as a result of fuel vapours being ignited by machinery.

A car and a motorbike were destroyed in the blaze and much of the unit's roof was damaged.
