TICKETS are now sale for screenings at a drive-in cinema to be held in the grounds of Himley Hall next month.

Paddington 2, Grease, Toy Story and the Lion King will be screened over the weekend of August 8 and 9, for people to enjoy from their cars.

Tickets are now on sale at the Himley Hall and Park website, to people in cars only, priced at just £20 per car, plus VAT and a small booking fee.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for Himley Hall and Park, said: "It’s been a tough few months for everyone and we thought a drive-in cinema would be the perfect pick-me-up.

"People will be able to stay in their cars throughout the screenings, so they are perfectly safe. What better way to spend valuable time out of the house and have fun with your family."

The films came out on top after Dudley Council ran a poll for people to vote for their favourite movies.

Paddington 2 will be screening at noon on Saturday, August 8 followed by Grease sing-along at 5pm. On Sunday 9 August Toy story will be showing at noon with The Lion King later at 5pm.

Film-goers can bring their own food and refreshments but alcohol will not be allowed. Gates will be open one hour before each showing and toilet facilities will also be available.

Cars will be kept apart following the two metre social distancing regulations and people will be able to stream the audio from the film via their car radios.
