BROADWAY Golf Club’s outgoing captain, Andy Basford, has been busy totalling up his charity fund – earned throughout 2019 from the many golfing and social activities run by the club.
The two charities he supported during his year as captain were Myeloma UK and Maggie’s (Cheltenham) which support cancer research and treatment aftercare respectively.
Maggie’s (Cheltenham) provide, practical, emotional and social support to complement the excellent medical treatment that the NHS provides.
Andy met some of the many volunteers who help there and presented a cheque for £4,198.55 towards the work the centre does.

Andy will also be presenting a cheque for £2,355.72 to Myeloma UK which will go towards the work it does in the discovery, development and access to new effective treatments.
He said: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of Broadway’s members who generously supported me throughout his year of captaincy.
"In particular would like to say a huge thank you to member Bill Cook for his sponsorship contribution through his “Dry February” which took the final for the year up to an amazing £6,554.27!
“Both charities are over the moon with the contributions they have received from the Broadway Golf Club."
