A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to a major trauma centre with serious injuries following a crash which closed the A438 for several hours last night.
An ambulance service spokesperson said paramedics and the Strensham air ambulance were called to reports of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle near the Tarrington Arms, Tarrington, at 3.55pm.
A female motorcyclist aged 21 had been thrown from her bike, which was found in a nearby field, and the car had significant damage to the driver's door.
The motorcyclist had suffered multiple serious injuries and medics administered advanced trauma care at the scene before she was airlifted to Bristol's Frenchay Hospital.
She is now in a stable condition.
The road remained closed until around 9.30pm while a crash scene investigation was carried out.
Police said the crash involved a black Honda CBR motorcycle and a blue Renault Clio, which were travelling towards Tarrington.
The 18-year-old driver of the Clio sustained minor injuries.
Anyone with any information or dash cam footage is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 462s of 16 October 2019.
- The Hereford Times Slow Down and Stay Safe campaign is urging drivers to take greater care on the county's roads, especially in the run-up to the clocks going back on October 27, and the subsequent of dark early evenings. There is no suggestion that speed was a factor in this latest crash.
