A MAN was caught with cannabis and cocaine in his bedroom after police raided his house looking for another person, a court has heard.
Timothy James Hill, 37, admitted possessing the drugs when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
Nicola Ritchie, prosecuting, said police were executing a warrant when they forced entry to the house of multiple occupation on Emlyn Avenue in Hereford at 6.30am on October 8.
Officers searched Hill's bedroom and found small bags of cocaine and cannabis and some cannabis resin.
Edmund Middleton, mitigating, said Hill uses cannabis on a regular basis, but that he had no real plans to use the cocaine, which had been in his room for some time.
"The police were actually looking for someone else, who they were told lived there," Mr Middleton said.
"He had a small amount of cannabis, which he uses to take the edge off familial issues which have had quite an impact on him."
Hill was fined £200 for possessing the drugs, which have been forfeited and destroyed. He must also pay costs of £185 and a £30 victim surcharge.
