MOTORISTS are being urged to take care on the roads after heavy rain overnight hit our already saturated ground and watercourses.
A Herefordshire Council spokesperson this morning said deep flood water on the A466 south of St Weonards. Please drive carefully in this area
And a flood alert is currently in force for the River Lugg south of Leominster, with the Environment Agency warning that although river levels are falling at the Lugwardine gauge, flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Stoke Prior to Mordiford.

Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop.
Further rainfall is forecast over the weekend, and officials are closely monitoring the situation.
Pedestrians are advised to avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water.
