A FESTIVAL held in honour of a Herefordshire woman who refused to let her battle with breast cancer hold her back will return next summer, organisers have confirmed.
Herefordshire woman Karen King, died in December last year, four years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Following her death, her husband Mike and friends created The Brightside Festival in her memory.
With music, street food, a bar, alongside children's activities and other fun and games, the Ashperton festival was a huge hit this year, raising more than £4,600 for Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mike said: "Karen loved music, dancing and festivals, so this became the obvious way to celebrate her life.
"Karen was determined not to be a victim of cancer, continuing her life with energy and enthusiasm as long as she could. She was greatly supported by both the team at the Renton Unit and Breast Cancer Haven."
The Brightside Festival is set to return on the 20 June 2020.
