The first ever John Masefield climate change conference will be held next week, with a number of expert speakers lined up.

The 'sign of the times' event will take place Monday November 18, from 3.30pm until 5pm, and it will be free to attend, and it will be open to the general public.

The guest speaker will be Dr Des McDougall, deputy head of the Institute of Science and the Environment and principal lecturer at Worcester University.

But a number of students will speak as well, including the leaders of the climate crisis action groups at John Masefield High School.

Mavis Doughty-Cook, Head of Geography at the Masefield said: Dr McDougall will be discussing his work on glacial retreat and the impacts of Climate Change over his career and sharing his research and experiences.

There will be refreshments and question time at the end.
