THE weather may be damp and a bit gloomy for the general election in Herefordshire, but we should perhaps be thankful voters were not being called to the polls exactly two years ago.
The county was then struggling to cope with a particularly heavy snowfall, as these pictures show.

Events were cancelled, schools and leisure centres closed, and roads became treacherous.
There were power cuts in places, while tree branches and even the Christmas lights in Old Market, Hereford, were brought down under the weight of ice.
The weather forecast for polling day tomorrow is mercifully kinder, though there will be rain throughout the day.
But later in the week, according to the Met Office, Herefordshire will see patches of snow on the hills.
