A SCOUTING group has been awarded a grant of £10k from the Government.
The 1st Ledbury Scout Group, who are based on Homend, was considered by the Government’s initiative to help small business and third sector groups through the current coronavirus pandemic.
Edd Hogan, group scout leader said: "A number of groups locally have received the same amount.
"This will allow us to improve our head quarters as we want to improve the outdoor space - it's just gravel at the moment - so an area which can be used better for scouting activities.
"We're looking at an artificial grass surface but we need to do more research into this.
"I want to thank our young people have adapted to this strange ‘new normal’ with a smile and enthusiasm: well done – you are a credit to your family, friends, and community. Stay safe and look after one another."
The Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme supports small and medium-sized businesses at this crucial time, who have an annual turnover below £45m.
The Government provides lenders with a guarantee of 80 per cent on each loan, giving lenders further confidence in continuing to provide finance to small and medium-sized businesses.
