FIREFIGHTERS have been kept very busy in the past few weeks, with the hot weather and out-of-control garden fires leading to a number of call-outs.
But a crew in Herefordshire put their rescue training to use yesterday, after they were called to the ruined Wigmore Castle.
A fire service spokesperson said a crew from Leintwardine Fire Station were called to the historic site at 5.42pm after a labradoodle fell from height into dense undergrowth.
Firefighters located the dog and brought him to safety, where he was reunited with his owner.
