DEVELOPERS want to build up to 43 new homes in a village near Hereford.

Beechcroft Land Ltd. and Crawford Richard Perkins have submitted plans to develop almost six acres of land next to the A49 in Moreton-on-Lugg.

The scheme would include 15 affordable homes alongside new access roads, public open space and 106 parking spaces.

The new homes would be a mixture of terraced, semi-detached and detached properties ranging from two beds up to four.

Architects working on the proposals said: “The vision for the site is to create a development that has its own special sense of place and identity whilst reflecting the urban forms and cues of the historic character of the village of Moreton on Lugg.

“There is an opportunity to create a development that responds to and enhances the natural features of the site through the provision of a new multi-functional network of green spaces combined with a series of streets and lanes which provide opportunity for healthy, interesting and safe movement.”

Residents have until July 16 to comment on the proposals which are expected to be considered before September 14 by Herefordshire Council.
