BATTLELANDS, up until the recent pandemic, has been a popular attraction for groups of friends and family to compete at either paintballing or laser clays.
Set in Ewyas Harold under the stunning backdrop of the Black Mountains, the business was thriving.
However, with the recent enforced shut down and the now very stringent precautions for re-opening, business owners Kevin Michael and Claire Bowen have been forced to remodel the activities on offer.
Inspired by a simple game that Claire found on the beach, The Viking Games have now been launched as an alternative to the close contact and large groups of paintballing.
Made up of a round robin of six traditional nordic games, you can try your hand at Molkky, Archery and even Axe throwing for the over 16s!
This family run business is adapting to the unprecedented times we are now in, "Covid has not gone away, and may not do so for some time, we need to find a way to run alongside it" said Claire.
"Local support has been great, and we are hoping to be a summer holiday activity option for families, attracting back small birthday parties and groups of six. We are positive about the future."
The Viking Games opened to the public on July 11, with all staff fully trained and able to demonstrate the activities and safety precautions effectively. Most of the activities are suitable for ages 8 years and up, with the axe throwing being 16 years old.
