A GARDEN centre near Tenbury will be the venue for a performance of the classic ‘Wuthering Heights.’

Chapterhouse Theatre Company are celebrating their 20th year by doing what they do best: touring open-air theatre to stunning locations - and they will be performing Wuthering Heights at Burford House Garden Store.

From the first year of performances at 30 venues, Chapterhouse now perform over 180 shows every year, and have become a greatly anticipated addition to thousands of theatre-goer’s calendars.

This year Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents the wild and tempestuous love story of Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights, set on the beautiful and mysterious Yorkshire moors.

This tale of passion and revenge has thrilled readers and audiences alike for generations and is now set to captivate Chapterhouse audiences for an evening of theatre beneath the stars.

The show will take place at the height of summer and the hope is that it will be dry and warm for theatre fans.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Chapterhouse Theatre Company to Burford House Garden Store,” said Paul Benson, manager of Burford House Garden Store.

“It is going to be wonderful to see the outdoor performance in such a picture-perfect setting and we are looking forward to sharing the experience with visitors to the show.”

Visitors to the show will be able to enjoy pre-show sharing platters available in the Café-Bar, plus Champagne and Pimms Bar, Strawberries and Cream.

Burford House Garden Store was at one time the home for a national collection of clematis and volunteers known as ‘the angels’ have been working to restore the gardens.

It is also the venue at which the annual Mistletoe Sales are held every year on the last Tuesday in November and on the first two Tuesdays in December.

These sales bring people into the town from all over the country and Europe as Tenbury is known as the Mistletoe capital of England.

There is also an annual vintage car show at the venue that is just outside of the town.

On the day of the performance, Saturday, July 6, the doors will be open at 6pm and the show will start at 7.30pm.
