Volunteers from Refill Evesham were out and about the town recently, including on the 27th September, National Refill Day.They were signing up cafes, businesses and local attractions to be part of the nationwide scheme. The aim of the scheme is to reduce the amount of single use plastic and so reduce the harm it does to wildlife and the environment.

Organisations that are part of the scheme display a blue refill sticker in the window. This shows people that they are welcome to take in a reusable container to be filled with tap water without charge. This also benefits the organisation as they get free advertising on the nationwide refill app as well as being seen as 'doing their bit' for the environment.

Refill Evesham came about through the work of the Evesham Town Plan Committee of the Town Council and Transition Evesham Vale. It continues to be supported by Evesham Town Council.

'We hope the scheme will help to reduce the amount of single use plastic in Evesham', said Councillor Julie Tucker 'It also compliments the work of the Town Plan Anti-litter campaign. Hopefully, we will find the number of plastic bottles collected on litter picks reduce! We think this should be a positive step for Evesham and its environment'.
