A LOCAL fundraising family raised a record amount of money for a hospital where their daughter is being treated for a life-limiting heart condition. Bryan and Mandy Edwards, of Badsey Lane, Evesham, raised £540 from plant, vegetable and jam sales this year in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Mandy said: “We are so thankful to the general public for once again supporting us with our pop-up shops in Badsey Lane and Childswickham.

"Bryan had a record 580 plants growing in his small greenhouse this year. I’m going to have to watch next year or he’ll be taking over my windowsills too!” Mandy will host the eighth annual Christmas Craft Fair at Leedons Park Childswickham on Saturday, November 17, in aid of the hospital. Last year, the event raised over £1,530 which meant that Mandy donated £2,600 to the hospital.

If anyone can’t make the event but want to make a donation, the family have a website, bethan.org.uk. Mandy said: “My daughter, Bethan, 14, has a rare life-limiting heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome which means that she only has half a heart. The hospital provides ongoing care for Beth.

"This year I am determined to hit a record-breaking £2,700.”
