A talented local artist, Steve Noake, from Worcester has wasted no time getting into the Christmas spirit. Steve has decided to offer his talents to create either portraits or personalised caricatures as Christmas

or birthday gifts. In return, he has asked for donations to Macmillan Cancer Support.

When asked why he had chosen to support Macmillan this Christmas, Steve said, ‘I decided to do this because Macmillan Cancer Support has helped so many people I know and I want to give something back to help others

living with cancer.’

Steve is hoping to raise £1,000 for the cancer charity. The money Steve hopes to raise could help fund a Macmillan nurse for more than 35 hours, nurses like the new Macmillan Immunotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist

in Worcestershire.

Funded by Macmillan Cancer Support, the Macmillan Immunotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist is the county’s first immunotherapy clinical nurse specialist. They provide support and advice to any patients receiving immunotherapy

treatment. Immunotherapy drugs (which work by helping the immune system recognise and attack cancer cells) have already revolutionised the treatment of some cancers.

The Macmillan Immunotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist monitors and manages symptoms from patients, spotting warning signs for toxicity early and providing the appropriate treatment quickly.

It is thanks to supporters like Steve that Macmillan is able to continue funding Macmillan nurses in Worcestershire.

Sarah Diston, Regional Fundraising Manager for Worcestershire, adds: ‘Steve is such a talented artist and having seen examples of his portraits and caricatures, they would make fantastic birthday or Christmas gifts

for family and friends. Steve’s support is so important and we cannot thank him enough for his generous efforts to help us support people living with cancer in Worcestershire from the moment they are diagnosed.’
