POLICE are attempting to trace the owner of war medals.

It is suspected the medals may have been stolen during a house burglary before Wednesday, January 30,

and a 34-year-old man arrested on suspicion of burglary and has been remanded in custody.

The medals, recovered by West Mercia Police, are believed to belong to someone who may live in the county.

The first medal is described as an Allied Victory Medal with the dates 1914/1919 on it.

The second medal is described as a British War Medal dated 1914/1920.

The third medal is described as a Star dated 1914.

It is believed that the medals were issued to an officer from Staffordshire who served in the Middlesex Regiment between 1915 and 1916.
