GAME of Thrones, the show that launched the career of Worcester actor Kit Harington, is set to come to a thrilling end.

The first episode of the eighth and final season was being broadcast in the US on Sunday, and is available to view in the UK on Sky today.

The 32-year-old, who moved to Worcestershire at the age of 11, plays Jon Snow in the popular medieval HBO fantasy drama. His success has brought him major roles including in Pompeii, Seventh Son, Spooks: The Greater Good and Testament of Youth, and on BBC show Gunpowder.

He has also appeared in West End production of Doctor Faustus.

The Worcester News has previously spoken to the actor, who told us that he had never forgotten his roots and has made return visits to his old schools where he first honed the skills that would propel him to international stardom.

The big question devoted fans of the show are asking ahead of the final six episodes is how the epic saga will conclude, and who will end up on the Iron Throne.
