NEW head Sarah Atkinson wants girls to “feel confident in their own skin” after agreeing to take the helm at recently-merged RGS Dodderhill.
Royal Grammar School Worcester and Dodderhill Independent Girls School joined forces at the Droitwich site last month with Mrs Atkinson set to take over when Cate Mawston retires in September.
The school, now known as RGS Dodderhill, will still be girls-only.
Mrs Atkinson said: “I believe RGS Dodderhill has been a hidden gem within our community and we are keen to throw open our doors and share our vision for the school’s exciting future.
“I want to create a school environment where girls can feel confident in their own skin, with the benefits of being in a single-sex environment but with full access to co-educational opportunities through working in partnership with RGS Worcester.”
