POLICE have been spotted near to where it is understood human bones were found, as investigations continue.
An eyewitness said two police cars were in and around Bestmans Lane, Kempsey, last night around 9pm.
Villagers have been left in shock by the discovery, after specialist officers were seen excavating the bones on Friday.
A police spokesman said officers do not believe the remains are in relation to the Suzy Lamplugh disappearance in the 1980s, but cannot rule it out until they have forensic results.
It is understood a workman went to the police after finding the bones.
