Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so it is said.

Whether it's muesli, a bacon butty or the full English, there is a lot to be said for starting the day with a decent nosh-up.

We asked Worcester News readers to share their stories and tips about the best eateries to get breakfast in and around the city, and this is what they told us.

Averil Thomas said: "Coffee Warehouse. Fab breakfast and staff."

Jan Jackson said: "Wayland’s Yard. 6 Foregate Street, Worcester. Spacious with some simplistic but funky seating. Very friendly and efficient staff. Great imaginative menu with lovely fresh quality ingredients. Definitely worth a visit."

Hels Bells said: "I love Papas Cafe along New Street, fab selection of pastries, lush coffee and the bacon and poached eggs are yummy."

Irfan Yildiz said: "Poppins restaurant serve the best breakfast always."

Laura Pettit said: "Cafe Viaduct does an absolutely amazing breakfast, the ingredients are excellently sourced and taste amazing, especially the sausages! It’s great value for quality and quantity and it’s served in a lovely cafe with very friendly staff."

Ellie Tustain said: "The Lemon Tart has my vote, the staff are very pleasant, lots of food elements Aaron makes himself and the prices are great."

Thomas Ross Lloyd said: "House of Coffee by Elgar statue, Tom Gaunt uses the finest ingredients all locally sourced, my only gripe would be that he doesn't offer hash browns..... oh did I mention that they do the best skinny frappuccino mocha in town?"
