SIR – I really don’t have time for the road blocking action that is taking place in Worcester today.
I signed up to the mailing list for XR [Extinction Rebellion] because I care about the planet.
I have friends that are in Greenpeace and I have voted for the Green Party in local elections.
However, this action is theatrical and self defeatist.
The group are punishing ordinary folk, they are punishing cyclists, car poolers and coach users.
They are punishing university students, many of whom are environmentally conscious, and who need to use the bridge to get into town or to lectures.
I don’t understand why the group don’t use their brains for political lobbying.
There is a petitions website on the British Parliament website and the European Parliament website.
These are easy to use and are a good way of giving politicians something to talk about aside from Brexit.
