Sir – I write in response to your front page story, 14,000 new homes plan (October 16).
There appears to be an unavoidable omission.
It is fine for the three south Worcestershire councils to include three new schools, shops, offices and other public facilities in the new SWDP, but of course they cannot include a new or extended hospital for the area – it is simply not in their gift!
It is ludicrous to propose such an increase in population when the Worcestershire Royal palpably cannot deal with the existing demand.
There is a need for some joined-up thinking here – but the present system does not seem to provide it.
Yours in perplexity,
Martin Harris
