As the famous Neil Diamond song goes, with an odd turn of grammar, “Where it began, we can’t begin to knowin’…”

But we do know the music ensures, and as living proof a tribute act is coming to Worcester’s Huntingdon Hall, this November.

A spokesman said: “Jamie Knight is proving himself to be the UK’s best tribute to the legendary Mr Neil Diamond.

“With over 25 years in the music industry, and having supported top acts such as Joan Armatrading, M People, Lighthouse Family, Nizlopi, Geno Washington and Wilko Johnson, you are in experienced hands.”

The spokesman said: “The Worcestershire based musician has a unique and versatile voice, and has experienced everything from singing in the Birmingham Community Gospel Choir, to performing at weddings and special functions as a DJ, as well as with his Manuka Band.

“This time round Jamie is no solitary man; he will be supported by his seven-piece Manuka Band. It’s a beautiful noise with a full live sound that brings all those truly mega hits to life.”

Neil Diamond has had an amazing career spanning more than 50 years, and has been richly rewarded for his success.

In 1984 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2011 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Additionally, he received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000 and in 2011 was honoured at The Kennedy Center.

The spokesman added: “It’s easy to see why Jamie has chosen to perform as this legendary figure. His live band will make a night of music to remember. Come and see Jamie Knight & The Manuka Band perform Neil Diamond’s greatest songs and you’ll be a believer!

The date for the diary is November 16.
