New life for old tales will be the theme of Twice Upon A Times, a show from the award-winning author and storyteller Daniel Morden at the Bishop’s Wood Centre, near Stourport.

The author will appear with musician Oliver Wilson-Dickson, on November 27, from 7.30pm.

But what can an audience expect.

A spokesman said: “Everyone loves a good tale, whether it be a novel, a boxset or a good gossip! Ever since people first walked the earth we have told stories. What better way to spend an evening then than in the company of a great storyteller?

“Daniel Morden has told tales for thirty years, in palaces to prisons, nurseries and universities, from Australia to the Arctic. He tells the long ago once-upon-a-time stories of magic, and danger. In 2017 he was awarded the Hay Festival medal for his storytelling.

“Oliver tours internationally with ALAW, The Devil’s Violin and Jamie Smith’s Mabon. Described by R2 magazine as ‘an expressive and exceptional fiddler’ he has worked with everyone from the BBC to the RSC and collaborated with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Proms.”

Daniel added: “This show is a celebration of the fairytale. Everything you could hope for is there- dark forests, mysterious strangers , talking animals, goodies, baddies, glass mountains, high drama and low comedy. Something magical and unique happens when stories are told in front of an audience. We forget ourselves and our troubles and share the high and lows of the characters. At the end of the evening a group of strangers have

become a community. You don’t get that from Netflix!”
