Staff from Worcester-based Sanctuary Supported Living are celebrating after being named the best care employer in the region.

The national supported housing provider won the Care Employer category at the West Midlands regional finals of the Great British Care Awards.

Achievements in the last 12 months include four services being rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, reaching 91 per cent in the resident satisfaction survey and the creation of the Communications Toolkit, which supports staff who work with non-verbal clients or those with special communication needs.

Sanctuary Supported Living will now go forward to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards next year.

Sara Keetley, operations director, said: “As a supported housing provider, our ethos is to put our residents at the heart of all we do, so for that to be recognised in this way is just incredible.

“This award is for each and every staff member who support some of society’s most vulnerable people in our services.

"While it would be fantastic to win the award at the national finals, I am already so proud of everybody at Sanctuary Supported Living for this achievement.”
