CHILDREN from Stagecoach in Redditch will take to the stage during the Ultimate Classic Rock Show in Worcester.

Next month audiences of the Worcester Swan Theatre will be treated to two hours of classic rock songs, from legendary artists such as Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Free, The Eagles, Jimi Hendrix to name but a few.

A spokesman said: "The Ultimate Classic Rock Show features hugely talented, energetic musicians and singers who have a wealth of experience in the music industry.

"Together they recreate the biggest and best classic rock anthems with outstanding energy and stunning accuracy, live on stage.

"Joining the live rock band on stage will be around 14 students, aged 9-19, from local performing arts school, Stagecoach Redditch. The talented students will join the musicians on stage to perform Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall."

Sammi Broad, the female lead singer from the show, said: “When we were deciding to take our show out on the tour, there was one element I felt really passionately about, involving the next generation of rock stars. Having a performing art teacher’s background myself, I see first-hand the experiences my students get to be a part of and noticed that there was nothing like this out there for them.

"They are used to performing with a hidden band in the pit or a backing track but there is literally no feeling like that of being side by side on stage with a live band... and a live rock band is even better it’s electrifying!

"The children get to feel like rock stars and the parents and grandparents get to relive and enjoy the classic rock music from their youth."

Principal Michelle Holmes of Stagecoach Redditch added: "The students are very excited to be performing alongside professional musicians in what will be a fun and exciting show!”

The Ultimate Classic Rock Show will be taking place at Worcester Swan Theatre on Wednesday February 12.
