POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" after being hit by a car.
The collision happened in Astwood Road, Worcester yesterday evening.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at 6.25pm on Astwood Road.
"One ambulance, the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was the pedestrian.
"She was treated for serious injuries at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”
West Mercia Police collision investigation inspector, Lloyd Cresswell, said: "Sadly, a woman has sustained injuries to her head and her leg during the collision.
"While investigations are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of the incident to please come forward.”
