HERE are some notable cases to be heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.

A man from Upton Upon Severn was banned from driving and fined after admitting to driving with drugs in his system.

Jan Beard admitted the charge, which was that on November 5 last year in Upton, he drove a Mercedes Benz in Minge Lane with benzoylecgonine, a by-product of cocaine in his system.

The 38 year-old, of Old Street, Upton, was fined £100 and banned from driving for 12 months.

He was also ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and costs of £135.

A woman from Worcester was banned from driving and fined after she failed to provide a specimen for analysis.

Ruby Collett pleaded guilty at Worcester Magistrates to the charge, which states that on May 17 this year she was asked to provide a breath sample, but failed to do so.

The 21 year-old, of Popert Drive, Worcester, was banned from driving for 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay a £150 fine, a £34 victim surcharge and costs of £135.

A man from Evesham was fined after he admitted carrying a baseball bat in the town and assaulting another man.

Andrew Salter, of Synehurst, Badsey, admitted carrying the bat in the town on April 7 this year, as well as assaulting another man on the same day.

He was ordered to pay a total of £317 for the offences, including fines, costs and victim surcharges.

Another Evesham man appeared before magistrates in Worcester, being fined for stealing from Halfords.

Tony Davis, of Rynal Place, admitted stealing a stereo-key from Halfords on February 16 this year.

The 31 year-old was ordered to pay back the price of the key, valued at £5 in addition to a fine of £200, a £32 victim surcharge and court costs of £185
