A 24-year-old man has denied dangerous driving after being accused of driving a van at police officers near Worcester.

George Brazier of Sinton Lea, Copcut, Droitwich appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday.

He denied driving a white Citroen Relay dangerously in Hindlip Lane near Worcester on November 19 last year.

Ralph Robyns-Landricombe, prosecuting, said the case was not suitable for summary trial at the magistrates court.

He said the accusation was that Brazier had driven the van towards off-duty police officers and that one officer was struck by a wing mirror.

The defendant also faces a second charge of driving the same vehicle without due care and attention on the same day and in the same location.

Mark Sheward, defending, said he had no observations and the bench declined jurisdiction.

Brazier will next appear at Worcester Crown Court on August 6. He was granted unconditional bail.
