THANK you for your front page on Bromsgrove District Council’s planning meeting, held on April 30.
On every attempt to persuade Worcestershire Highways that a western bypass would solve most of our congestion problems, it has advised that no funds can be made now or in the future for this work. I have now asked Sajid Javid, Bromsgrove’s MP, how funds could be provided.
In response, he advised that funds are available from Government, however a strong case would be required. A western bypass would not only prevent gridlock that would result of the provision of 490 houses at Whitfield Road and the 1300 in Perryfield Road, but open the way to provide our share of the 36,000 houses required for Birmingham.
