IN regard to the letter from Nigel Bourne, I can inform him that after many contacts with British Waterways and the council it appears that the trees on British Waterways land were cut downas theywereunhealthy or a threat to the public. The chestnuts were cut down to allow road widening paid for by the developer so parking can take place on the road. I doubt the developer will pay for my time and fuel waiting while this is done or for future road maintenance.
Thewishes of DroitwichSpapeople mean nothing to our planners as long as developers can make a profit – they did not even know where the trees where.
Paul Chandler, Droitwich
