SUNDAY will be an historic day for Droitwich Spa Ladies FC as they field two sides for the first time.
The newly-promoted firsts begin their Regional League campaign at Coventry Development on a high after becoming county champions last season.
Such has been the success and popularity of the club that a second team, Droitwich Spa Belles, has been established, who will take their place in the County League.
They will start their season with an equally challenging trip to Hereford LC Ladies.
Head coach and chairman Ian Fry said: “To win the county league last season was a fantastic achievement for us and everyone involved with the ladies team is very much looking forward to the challenge.
“Our squad grew so much that we felt it was right to set up an additional team and we are also very excited to see what the Belles can achieve.”
