BROMSGROVE captain Mark Evenson is hoping his side can shake off two rain disrupted weeks and find their best form in Saturday’s top of the table clash against Walsall.
Saturday’s game at St Godwald’s will see the third-placed Boars entertain the leaders from the Black Country.
Both team have barely played any cricket over the last two weekends, which have been hit hard by torrential rain.
Bromsgrove made a start with the bat but their game against Oswestry was abandoned at the weekend, while Walsall had bowled out Smethwick for 164 before the heavens opened.
But the Boars boast a full strength squad as they look leapfrog their opponents, who boast a slender three-point lead over them.
Evenson said: “We’re playing at home so we’re going to be comfortable with the conditions and the ground.
“It was frustrating that the last two games have been so disrupted by the rain but Walsall are in the same boat.
“Hopefully this won’t affect us because this is a very big game for both sides.”
Bromsgrove were frustrated when Saturday’s game was abandoned after several breaks for rain, as they had taken the initiative.
Evenson had won the toss and elected to bat first, with the hosts made151-3 before the game was called off in the 30th over.
Ashley Newfield (61) and Alex Kervezee (69) got among the runs before the weather had its say.
“The game was very stop-start because of the weather but by about 3.30pm there was thunder and lightning and there was no way the game could continue.”
