THERE was a disappointing end to the season for North East Worcestershire Ravens as their final game of the season was cancelled.
Ravens had been set to play Birmingham Bulldogs at the weekend but their rivals from the Second City have pulled out of the Midlands League Premier.
Despite the best efforts of the club, they were unable to find replacement opponents.
Ravens have had a tough season and only played three home fixtures this season in May and June.
They have travelled far and wide this summer to ensure they play as many fixtures as possible, even heading on long journeys with only 13 men.
Coach Jason Spafford said: “Although it has been a tough year We are proud of our accomplishments, we are one of very few teams that have only pulled one game all season, of which was due to illness and injuries.”
They go to to Sherwood Wolf Hunt this Saturday for a play-off game. Junior training will come to a close this Sunday with awards and a barbecue to celebrate the season.
